Some politicians want to choose their voters - we won't let them take away our freedoms to have a say over the decisions that impact our lives.
Meet Alex Maldonado
My name is Alex Maldonado, and I'm running for Harris County District Clerk because I believe in a Texas where every voice matters.

As the son of immigrants, I watched my father work long hours to keep a roof over our heads. I witnessed the sacrifices my parents made so my siblings and I could chase bigger dreams. Their hard work opened the door to become a first-generation college graduate. I attended college in New York to pursue a degree in Political Science and Applied Mathematics, but felt the call to serve my community as a teacher. I returned home to pursue my Masters in Education at Rice University, where I served the public as an educator for the past four years. As a result, I believe everyone has the opportunity to be successful with the right support and resources. I continue to follow the motto my teachers once told me:

Ask Questions. Your Voice Matters.

From the Classroom to the Courthouse. Every Voice Deserves to Be Heard.
As District Clerk I'll Fight for Working People By:

Advocating for Increasing Jury Duty Pay
Specific Demographics - Hispanics, African Americans, Young Adults - are often being underrepresented in our Justice System. A Jury of our peers is a fundamental rights, and we deserve a district clerk who will fight for equitable representation.

Breaking Down Technology and Language Barriers
The District Clerks Office is responsible for managing all records for those who come into contact with our criminal justice system. That job isn't just about paperwork - it's about people. It's time to increase accessibility by removing physical and language barriers by providing opportunities to file documentation digitally and implement language translators.

Create Public Campaigns to highlight Civic Duties
Our county can't keep kicking the can down the road on civic duties. As District Clerk, I will work with school districts and education departments to create civic lessons that teach young adults and students about the importance of Civic Duties.

Improving Efficiency in the District Clerks Office
When a system moves too slowly, justice is delayed - for victims, for families, for communities. I'll work alongside the Sheriff's and District Attorney's Office to improve processing times so law enforcement can focus on public safety, and those navigating the courts aren't stuck waiting for the help they need.
